Dear Bryn Mawr School Neighbors,

We wanted you to be among the first to know that Bryn Mawr will be replacing its upper athletic field with a new synthetic turf surface this coming summer. Construction is scheduled to begin in early May and should be completed by the time school opens in the fall.

Improvements to the upper athletic field will include a new synthetic turf field, the use of natural stone at the spectator stands and retaining walls and fencing. New landscaping and trees will be added along the western edge of the field to replace the existing trees which have become unhealthy and pose an ongoing safety concern for our students and others when using the field. New landscaping along with a walk and steps leading to the field will also be added at the southeast corner. Finally, a significant portion of the construction addresses storm water management (SWM) requirements which will serve to greatly benefit the environment.

As with any construction project, you may notice an increase in truck traffic, noise, and dust around the construction sites. We want to assure you that any inconvenience to you during the renovations is temporary. Please know that it is a top priority for us to minimize any disruption you may experience.
